Chevrolet Pickup Models through the years

For those just getting into the Chevy Vintage Pickups I thought I would try to compile a list of Models through the year.
  • Chevrolet Advance Design - 1947 to March 1955 - were billed as bigger, stronger and sleeker than ever before.  The 3100 Series instangly became a classic with its 5-bar horizontal grille and rounded profile.  The truck was offered as Half-Ton, Three-Quarter Ton and One-Ton in short and long wheelbases.

  • Chevrolet Task Force April - 1959 to 1959 - The New Task Force series is launched with innovative styling and the truck industry's first wraparound windshield.  In 1955 the iconic Cameo Carrier was introduced with its industry-first fleetside styling and the legendary Chevy small block V8.  debuting for the first time in a regular pickup.

  • Chevrolet First Generation C/K - 1960 to 1966 - First Generation C/K trucks becomes the go-to pickup for work and recreational activities.  In 1965 nearly half of all Chevy trucks sold since 1918 are still on the road.

  • Chevrolet Second Generation C/K - 1967 to 1972 - New features were introduced, including padded dashboards, energy-absorbing steering wheels and dual master-cylinder brake systems.  The 1967 C/K provieds a wide choice of 6-cylinder plus small and big block V8 engines.

  • Chevrolet Third Generation C/K - 1973 to 1987 - Chevy introduces "square body" styling with its third-generation C/K trucks, a design that creates better aerodynamics and improved efficiency.  In 1973, the C30 One-Ton Dually debuts and is considered to be the first modern Heavy Duty pickup truck.

  • Chevrolet Fourth Generation C/K - 1988 to 1998 - The first Chevy truck built on the new GMT400 platforme, these C/K trucks feature all-independent front supensions and a major evolution in cab confort.  Insta-Rac 4WD is introduced, allowing drivers to shift in and out of 4WD without leaving the cab.
